He smirked, his voice low. “I just... can’t believe how lucky I am to be sitting next to you right now.”
That was when he leaned in, the car slowing slightly on a quiet stretch of road. His hand brushed against mine, and before I could even catch my breath, his lips found mine in a kiss that was warm and unhurried, like he wasn’t afraid to take his time with me. It wasn’t planned or dramatic. It was soft. Intentional. Real.
When he pulled back, there was a look in his eyes I hadn’t seen before, something tender, something certain. We didn’t say much for the next few minutes, but the silence had changed. It was full now. Full of the kind of unspoken understanding that only happens when something meaningful begins. And as the trees closed in around us and the trailhead came into view, I knew the day, and whatever this was between us, was only just beginning.
He parked his car, stepped out of his car, all I could hear was nature's own orchestra, birds were chirping, the wind was still, the waterfall was running down. We took a selfie in front of the water fall. We walked up the hill. It was so peaceful to listen to water running through the rocks and just us. I felt like I was in paradise. We hiked on the edge of the waterfall, all the way to the top, about a mile up. There was a bench underneath a tree. We sat there, he pulled out his phone and we took some more selfies together. He set his favorite one as his wallpaper. We sat there contemplating nature, enjoying the scene and its beauty.
